My Sister and Sister-in-Law are both having girls in the next month so I decided to try making some baby shoes for them. They turned out great and everyone thought they were so cute! So here is how I made them...
Step 1) I used my amazing Silhouette of course to cut out the pattern. For those who have Shilouettes I used this shape: baby_shoes_3-6_months_C02996_1

Step 2) Prep the Fabric. I made two pairs at one time, so only do half if your only doing a pair. For one pair you will need two different styles of fabric that are 12" x 6". You will also need some interfacing, I bought some Heatn'Bond from Hobby Lobby. After I ironed my fabrics I cut out a 12"x12" piece of each fabric and interfacing.

Step 3) Place the fabric right side down and then place the interfacing on fabric paper side up and iron the entire section for about 5 seconds and repeat until the interfacing is applied to the fabric. Now repeat to the second piece of fabric. Let the fabric cool and peel of the paper.

Step 4) Now your ready to cut. Place the fabric interface down onto your cutting mat. I have 2 12"x12" pieces of fabric because I made two pairs. If your making one you can take both 12"x6" pieces and place them one below the other on the mat. Then remove from mat once they are cut. You should have 12 pieces per pair of shoes. I will now continue as if I was just making one pair...just apply to both pairs if your making 2.

So to assemble the shoe you can either use a sewing machine, hot glue gun, or fabric glue. Since this was a trial for me I tried all three, and I liked using the hot glue gun the most. I am not a sewer, so I hand stitched some parts. Pick what your comfortable with and go with it!
Step 5) Face the patterned arches on top of each other, right sides together. Glue or sew the inside of the arch, this will form the top part of the shoe.

Step 6) Next turn the fabric side out and iron the arches together. This forms the top of the shoe and the the interfacing will bond the fabrics together. Then go a head and sew or glue the back of the arch together.

Step 7) Then iron the soles of the shoes together with the interfacing sides together. You can then pin the sole of the shoe to the top of the shoe inside out and sew or glue around the edges. Then go a head and turn it right side out.

step 8) Now it's time to make the straps. Take your 4 rectangles and iron opposite fabrics together with the interfacing touching. Then fold in the sides to make a thin seem and either sew or glue it in half.

Step 9) Now glue the edge of the strap to the inside of the shoe. Then glue a small snap to the end of the inside of the strap. Then act like your closing the strap and glue the other side of the snap to the outside of the shoe...and your done!

I added some flowers to the straps.... aren't they just adorable!

Now go and make some cute shoes!
